Maats x Alba Optics
Every year the team of Alba Optics is touring around the world. Unfortunately, since Covid this wasn't possible. But, in 2022 the Alba team is touring again and they host cool rides and events with retail partners worldwide. The tour of '22 is called “Meet Alba!” and in May 2022, these Italian heroes visited Olanda. We organized two cool rides together from Amsterdam and our new store Utrecht.
At Maats we are big fans of sunglasses/lifestyle brand Alba Optics. We have been working with the brand since 2017 and have become good friends with Alba owners Piergiorgio and Luca. In 2019 we organized our first event together. And we were very excited to have the opportunity to host another Maats x Alba Optics Social Ride.
Briefing before the ride
En Route
After some coffee, the briefing and a group photo, we started in three groups from the Amsterdam store. The route started in the lively neighbourhood De Pijp. Because it’s the Netherlands the roads are mostly flat. From there, we rode alongside the river Amstel and Vecht through some towns. After about 50km we reached the town Muiderberg for freshly made pizza before we got back on the road to Amsterdam.

After approx. 50km the groups arrived in Muiderberg where Pizza Del Sud was waiting with freshly made pizzas and drinks.
Back on the road to the Amsterdam store
After pizzas and drinks we were back on the road for about 30 km to Amsterdam. The Yellow Bear from Alba Optics was waiting and a little surprise for the riders. We had an awesome weekend and are already looking forward to what next year will bring!
